Bessie Mae Huxtable, 71, of Holt, Mo., passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 5, 2018 from a long battle with cancer.
Bessie Mae was born on January 27, 1947 in Holt, Mo., to Marvin and Dorothy (Amos) Huxtable. Bessie retired from AT&T in July 2008 with 30 years of service.
Aunt Bessie had lots of interests. She loved gardening, travel, painting and music. If she found it interesting, she dabbled in it. She could play multiple instruments — guitar, banjo, mandolin, accordion, and auto harp.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Billy Rex Huxtable, Marvin Edward “Buzz” Huxtable, and Gene Huxtable; and one sister, Anna (Wade) Huxtable.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred George of Warsaw; one brother, John B. “J-bird” Huxtable of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews.
Bessie loved working in her flower garden where her flowers wee always perfect — just like the perfect aunt she was.
