Vivian Irene Wilkins
Vivian Irene Wilkins, 88, Excelsior Springs, Mo., surrounded by her family, went to be with The Lord, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Liberty Hospital.
Irene was born July 20, 1925 in Monticello, Ark., the daughter of John William Chadwick and Sarah Lillian Blissitt. She was married to Spencer R. Wilkins on November 29, 1942, who preceded her in death in 1970. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother and loved children and cared for many besides her own. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Also preceding her in death were son, John William; son-in-law, Joseph Clark; great grandson, Ryan Ford; and sisters, Myrtle Crawford, Lillian Ball and Imogene Wilkerson.
Survivors include four daughters, Lola (Ron) Ford, Richmond, Mo., Linda (Ernest) Clark, Peggy Clark, and Kathy (Brett) Ivey, and three sons, Spencer “Butch” (Mary) Wilkins, Michael Wilkins, and Rick (Robin) Wilkins, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; sister, Mattie Pearl Wilkins of Arkansas; two brothers, Leroy Chadwick, Lawson, Mo., and Grover Preston of Arkansas; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grand-children.
Visitation to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Pisgah Baptist Church, with services Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Pisgah Cemetery Fund, 115 “O” Highway, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024 in memory of Irene.
