
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Lee Howard (Watt) — a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence brought warmth, steadiness, and love to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Virginia leaves behind a large family legacy. She is survived by her children, Debbie McAdams and family, Tamara Kennedy and family, Michael Kennedy and family, Rodney Cook and family, Jill (John) Rickart and family, Wendy Baldwin and family, and Kathy Sprinkle and family. Between all her children there are more than 67 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Each member of her family was a source of immense pride and joy for Virginia. Her life will continue to be felt through the generations.
Virginia was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to her work. She managed Colony Plaza for many years, where she was admired for her leadership, organizational talent, and ability to keep everything running smoothly. Her colleagues and friends remember her as a guiding force — steady, capable, and always willing to lend a hand.
One of the highlights at Colony Plaza was the monthly potluck dinners, made special by Virginia’s tradition of preparing the main course. Her cooking brought people together.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking, shopping, and her beloved cat, Cocoa.
Celebration of Life
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held January 11, 2026 from 1 to 3 PM at Ventana Gourmet Grill, 117 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO.
In honoring her memory, the family invites friends and loved ones to stop in, share a story, and celebrate the beautiful life Virginia lived.
