Darrell DeWayne Holt, 56 years old, from Excelsior Springs, Mo., previously Lawson, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Liberty Hospital.
He is the son of Dolores Jean and the late Darrell C. Holt of Lawson, Mo., he grew up in Lawson, and lived in the area his entire life.
He married Jackie Sue Smith, from Lawson, Mo., on April 24, 1981. They were together until her passing on October 7, 2010.
He worked at Platte-Clay Electric Co-op in Kearney from the time he was seventeen until his retirement. Everyone he met ended up being his friend.
He married Deborah Ann (Giles) Cohoon on June 21, 2014. Both were originally from Lawson, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah A. Holt; his children, daughter, Toni Sinclair and her husband, Brian Sinclair of Lawson, Mo., and his son, Darrell R. Holt and his wife, Cristie Holt of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; mother, Dolores J. Holt of Lawson, Mo.; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ethan Sinclair of Lawson, Mo., and Loretta James of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; sister, DeAnn (Holt) Barrett of Lawson, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Cassandra Cohoon and Victoria Cohoon and their children, Robert and Chantai Hart, Lucas Crowley and Damon Tadic.
Services will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 1000 E. St. Hwy. 92, Kearney, MO 64060 in the Sanctuary. There will not be a viewing, this is a Memorial service. There will be photos, lots of memories and love.
