Ronald Charles Chouris, 76, Kearney, Mo., passed away April 30, 2017.
Ron was born in St. Louis, Mo., to George and Maude (Haggin) Chouris on June 3, 1940.
Ron started his career in produce with National Foods Stores in St. Louis, Mo. He was known for building some of the largest apple displays and helping launch the first grocery store salad bars. He spent many years in the industry and made long lasting friendships.
Ron was a gregarious and larger than life person.
Ron married Brenda Burris on July 25, 1992. He was devoted to his family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda; daughters, Sherri (Richard) Sontag and Janet (Michael) Baker; sister, Bessie Thrasher; grandchildren, Richard Sontag Jr., David Sontag, Heather (James) Hickman, Jennifer (Grant) Stivers, Samantha Baker and Zachary Provo; great-grandchildren, Devin, Bailey, Gabrielle, Ryan, Sadie, Bryn, Emmalia, Allya, Elijah, Danny, Mikah, Logan, Carson and Lukas; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, John, and Robert Chouris; and nephew, Mark Chouris.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, with a celebration of life service immediately following at Community Covenant Church, Kearney, Mo. If you prefer in lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the church. Ron was such a colorful man, please wear bright colors to celebrate him.
