Jerry Lee Stufflebean died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 23, 2017 in Holt, Mo., at the age of 77.
Jerry was born on April 28, 1940 in Brookfield, Mo., to Gerald Emerson Stufflebean and Gladys Ruth (Frazier) Stufflebean. He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1959. He moved to Kansas City and worked as a union meat cutter. He married Peggie Leah (Cook) on April 24, 1964 and together they raised three children in Kearney, Mo.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggie; children, Shelia (Justin) Drescher of Kearney, Shelley (Jeff) Mosley of Mechanicsburg, Ill., and Shane (Jennifer) Stufflebean of Lee’s Summit; siblings, Sharon Grimshaw of Brookfield, Kenneth Stufflebean of Marceline, Russell Stufflebean of Brookfield, Connie Stufflebean of Brookfield, and Darryl Stufflebean of Brookfield; grandchildren, Tara (Josh) Freeman of Kearney, Lindsay Witte of Kearney, Dustin (Nichole) Witte of Lexington, Blain Drescher of Kearney, and Leah, Michael, Anna and Jenna Stufflebean of Lee’s Summit; great-grandchildren, Reighlyn Champagne of Kearney, Karson and Kannon Freeman of Kearney, and Laney Mae Witte of Lexington.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Emerson Stufflebean; mother, Gladys Ruth (Frazier) Stufflebean; and brother, Douglas Ray Stufflebean, all of Brookfield.
The family would like to thank Crossroad Hospice for their exceptional care and services during his illness. We would also like to thank all that came to visit, texted, emailed and called during this difficult time.
Services will be held at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday July 28, 2017 fand the funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday July 29, 2017.
