Carl Wayne Paxton, 71, of Lathrop, Mo., passed away on August 9, 2017.
Carl was born in Amazonia, Mo., on May 6, 1946.
Carl worked in the maintenance department at The Kansas City Star for 18 years where he met his wife, Dorothy. Carl continued to work there until he retired.
Carl is survived by one brother, five step-children, 15 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren and other family and friends.
Carl is preceded in death by his step-son, James Miller, and 12 siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Tri-City Baptist Church, 430 NE Duncan Rd., Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
