Dorothy Isabel Miller Paxton, 82, of Lathrop, Mo., passed away on August 15, 2017.
Dorothy was born in Boston, Mass., on May 28, 1935. She graduated from UMKC in May of 1984 with a master’s degree in administrative justice.
Dorothy worked as a probation officer prior to joining the Collections Department at The Kansas City Star where she continued to work until she retired.
Dorothy is survived by five children, Peggy Miller of Nebraska, Beverly Edwards (Frank) of Smithville, Mo., David Miller of Kansas City, Mo., Debbie Miller (Rick Webb) of Kansas City, Mo., and Gary Miller (Kathy) of Blue Springs, Mo., 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and other family and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her son, James Miller, and her husband, Carl Paxton.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Tri-City Baptist Church, 430 NE Duncan Rd., Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
