Brennan was a resident of the Northland area. He was born in Fairway, Kans., prior to moving to Kearney in 1977. He attended Kearney Elementary and Kearney Middle before graduating from Kearney High School in 1990. Brennan was a terrific athlete and earned numerous varsity letters and honors. He was a captain along with All-Conference, All-District, All-State. (Punter and QB) All-Conference and All-District in basketball and placed fourth in the state in tennis, twice. He was an impressive skier, golfer, ping-ponger, dart-thrower and loved to compete. He was also a passionate craftsmen and could expertly make furniture along with general household repairs. (No small feat considering the Van Dyne mechanical aptitude.)
Brennan attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he majored in business (May 94). He was also a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was employed, at the time of his death, by Vin Solutions (eight years), where he was a top-level performer.
Brennan enjoyed sports, traveling, hanging with friends and music but nothing compared to, or could measure up to his desire to spend time with his children. He was wholly committed, devoted and extremely proud of all five of his children and their various activities. He was equally thrilled to follow Katie’s theatre projects and Maddi’s cheerleading as he was the boy’s sports activities. They were his life!
