Bill Dane

We regret to inform Napa Valley that sales will soon shrink due to the untimely passing of Bill Dane on April 9, 2018.

He conquered corporate America … starting his career with W.T. Grant as a store manager and working his way up to Regional Vice President with Safelite Auto Glass.

As we all know, retirement wasn’t for him. He began a second career as Mayor of Kearney, MO. After 18 years in the driver’s seat and entering the route into the GPS, he reluctantly moved to the passenger seat. The next generation has the route and the means to steer Kearney down the road to the future he knew was possible.

He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Patti Crawford Dane, of Hampton, IA; son, Quentin and wife, Lady, of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Kelly Dane Moran and husband, Matt, of Ft. Myers, FL; son, Kris of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Dallas Dane of Charleston, SC; Magnolia Moran of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters, Gina Neal and husband, Jerry, Wanda Richmond and husband, Ron; and numerous other family members across the country.

Pops, the big boss above has called, you’ve been promoted. You did an amazing job!

Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Kearney. A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the church.

A donation to the Arthritis Foundation is suggested in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements are in care of Fry Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.

To Pat and family
My condolences to all of you. Bill taught me how to drink wine, and for the last few years, very nice wine! My last time with him was at a wine tasting, how appropriate. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. He will be missed.

Dear Pat & Family;
Judy & I were saddened to hear of Bill’s passing, but know he is now celebrating with Floyd, Lillie, Dallas and our Lord Jesus Christ.  Bill was my 2nd brother and best friend during our high school years, and I will never forget all the time I spent at the Dane house!
And then when Bill went to the FBI and met you the love of his life; the trip to Hampton for the wedding, what memories we have together.  Judy & I were privileged to have Bill in our wedding too.  We only regret that we didn’t stay closer in contact during the last 40 years.
Pat, Judy and I will be praying for you and your family today, Even though there is sadness, celebrate the life you had together.
We live in Palm Harbor, Florida now so if you are ever down this way  . . give us a call (727.667.2469), we would love to see you.
May the Lord richly bless and keep you today.
John & Judy Delk

My condolences to the family. Bill was a dedicated leader for the Kearney community and I know he will be missed.
