James was a lifelong Kansas City Royals fan and a faithful servant of his Lord. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 62 years; his two daughters, Valarie (Leonard) Johnson and Sara (Don) Musil; three grandsons, Toby Johnson, Nick Shepherd, and Sam Shepherd.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1215 Baldwin Street, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Norborne, Mo.
Arrangements are in the care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
