James Fredrick Atkins, 49, Lawson, Mo., beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, God father and friend, passed away June 21, 2018 at his home.
James was born December 27, 1968 to Clifford Fred and Elfrieda Gertrude (Mattern) Atkins in Lawson, Mo. He met Alisha Jackson on February 17, 1992 and they were married one year later. James worked construction ranging from concrete to building and remolding. He also ran his own mowing and snow removal business. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, Priest, Flicka and Zeus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Violet Goheen; aunt, Judy Favor; sister, Debbie McLallen; and great nephew, Ryan Stouffer.
He is survived by his wife, Alisha Atkins; son, Logan and his wife, Brandy, and her daughter, Destiny; son, Luke Atkins; daughter, Peyton Atkins; father and mother-in-law, Vern Jr. and Alice Jackson; brother and sister-in laws, Joe and Dorenna Jackson, and Jeff and Cindy Jackson; brothers, Mike Atkins, and Delbert and wife, Melody Atkins; sister, Carol Brown; brother-in-law, Monty McLallen; 24 nephews and nieces; 23 great nephews and nieces; God daughter, Sammy Shaker and her parents, Lori and Gabriel; and many honorary brothers and sisters which hold a dear spot among his family. He will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Lawson Baptist Church, 18603 North U.S. Highway 69, Lawson, MO. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the family.
