Gloria Bove’ Hanlon, 92, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away on December 10, 2018 at North Kansas City Hospital/NorthCare Hospice House.
Gloria was born on April 1, 1926 in Bayside, N.Y. As a Navy family, they lived in New York, Cuba, Marblehead, Mass., Newport and Middletown, R.I. After settling in Middletown, R.I., she expanded her creative talents by belonging to garden clubs, teaching wild flower arranging at Swinburne School of Household Art and the Norman Bird Sanctuary. She sold her works under the name Sea Breeze Farm Originals and was a successful business woman and wonderful mother.
While living near her son and his family in Yarmouth, Maine, she became quite accomplished in folk art style painting. She returned to Kansas City, Mo., to be close to her three daughters and continued her passion for painting.
Her kindness touched the lives of so many.
Gloria’s survivors include her children, Claire (Dr. Kevin) Allman, Ramon (Alicia) Hanlon, Laura Feingold, and Mary (Steve) McGinley; grandchildren, David Murray, Michael (Kasey) Murray, Alyssa (Jeffrey) Smith, Adam (Jill) Hanlon, Alaina (Jason) Adams, Michael (Heather) Feingold, Joseph Feingold, Sarah Feingold, and Collin McGinley; and nine great-grandchildren.
Kansas City area family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Fry-Bross & Spidle Chapels, 208 S. Jefferson St., Kearney, Mo.
On Monday, December 17, 2018, family and friends in the Northeast area are invited to attend a Roman Catholic mass at St. Mary’s Church in Newport, R.I. at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Columba’s Catholic Cemetery in Middletown, R.I.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of: NorthCare Hospice House, Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64112.
