Patricia A. Johnson

1933-2019

Patricia “Pat” Johnson passed away peacefully April 14, 2019.  Born in Atkinson, Neb., she met what would become her husband of 63 years in Kansas City in 1954.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bob, daughters, Diane and Nancy, son, Bob, and eight grandchildren.

Pat is preceded in death by her oldest son, Dan.

Pat was born in Atkinson, Neb., the only child of John and Sarah Callely.  At the age of 12, Pat’s mother, Sarah, passed away and she and her father moved to Stanton, Neb., where she attended Stanton High School.  While in Stanton she had many relatives to grow up with.  Her father, John remarried to who we learned to love as Grandma Mary (Albrecht).

After high school Pat traveled to Leavenworth, Kans., and attended St. Mary’s College, an all girl’s Catholic school.  After leaving St. Mary’s, Pat moved to Kansas City, Mo., and started her career working for Trans World Airlines.  While at TWA Pat and her girl friends would attend USO dances where she met Bob Johnson.  They dated for about 2 years and once married settled on making Kansas City, Mo., home.

Pat and Bob traveled to several cities around the United States on Pat’s TWA employee pass.  After a few years of fun and travel they began a family.  Pat had five children. Sons, Dan and Bobby (Teresa); daughters, Diane (Stoney) and Nancy (Rick); and one child who unfortunately passed away shortly after birth.  He was known as baby boy Johnson. Pat was also very proud of her eight grandchildren, Ryan, Shelby, Logan, Megan, Chandler, Nic, Bryce and Samantha, along with her beloved dog, Lady.

Pat loved attending all her children’s sporting events.  Baseball, basketball, swimming, softball, track and football.  If her kids were in a sport, she was there.  She also enjoyed her many vacation trips to see family and friends in Nebraska and in Minnesota, which was the home of her husband, Bob.

After 25 plus years working in the market research field, Pat retired and spent many years volunteering for the Christ the King Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels programs.

Pat had many friends she kept in contact with over the years.  Many have passed before Pat, but now we can say, “the band is back together”.

Services will be held April 24, 2019 at CHRIST THE KING Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114. Visitation is 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the CHRIST THE KING Food Pantry.

Our Sincere Condolences

I’m a classmate of Dan’s. I went to College with Dan & Bob. I am so sorry for your loss.
