Eugene V. Marut, 82, of Holt , Mo., passed away on May 26, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.
Mr. Marut was born on January 17, 1937 in Passaic, N.J. Gene grew up in Garfield, N.J., and held many jobs in his lifetime. First and foremost, he was a baker, like his father and grandfather before him, in New Jersey, New York, Florida, and Missouri. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Europe from 1955 – 1959. As an adult, Gene enjoyed bowling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anna.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Paul Kochanowski of Holt; son, David and his wife, Carol; granddaughter, Lauren of Chicago; daughter, Jennifer; grandson, Kyle; and granddaughter, Rowan of Loudonville, N.Y.
Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
