Stephen Scott Graham passed away on July 2, 2019. Born in Smithville, Mo., on July 16, 1960, Steve was the youngest of three children born to William “Billy” David Graham, Sr. and Mary Eileen Moss.
Steve was intelligent and curious, and was equipped with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He had a kind heart and a deep affection for animals — especially the rescue cats he adopted and cared for over the years. As an adult, Steve struggled with mental illness, which often concealed the good hearted, peace loving person at his core, while he struggled with the challenges of daily life and the complications of his illness. Despite these challenges, Steve had a strong sense of social justice and used his voice to stand up for himself and for others whenever he encountered injustice and inequality.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and his significant other, Samantha Thrasher.
He is survived by his sister, Pamela Yates of Gresham, Oreg.; brother, Dave Graham of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and his niece, April Graham of Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Cremation with private service.
