Wanda Fitzgerald departed this life on August 17, 2019 after a 2 year battle with cancer, with her daughters by her side.
Wanda Sue Fitzgerald was born on August 22, 1943 in McFall, Mo., to Ethel Lucille Tunnell and Leo Collins. She grew up in Pattonsburg, Mo., with her six brothers and sisters. After graduating, she moved to Kansas City and lived there for many years. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to live in Oklahoma, Washington State, and Ohio.
Wanda was married to Douglas Fitzgerald and they had two daughters, Stacey Hoffmann and Kelly Fitzgerald-Morgan. Doug passed away in 2006 from cancer in Excelsior Springs, Mo., where they lived for many years.
She enjoyed garage sales, going to the casino, spending time with her grandchildren, and talking about politics. She thought we needed a revolution. Bernie 2020.
She is survived by two daughters, Stacey Hoffmann (Bruce) and Kelly Fitzgerald-Morgan (Brandon); two sisters, Barbara Jones and Penny Collins; two brothers, Garland Collins and Tim Collins; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Fitzgerald; her mother, Lucille Collins; a brother, John Collins; and a sister, Judy Welden.
Visitation will be held from 10 tp 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo. A graveside service will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
