Raymonda Jean Blackburn Hollis was born on April 10,,1933 in Mammoth Springs, Ark., and passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in Liberty, Mo. The daughter of Charlie and Effie Blackburn, “Jeanie” was a member of the Church of Christ. She was skilled at crochet, embroidery, and had a beautiful singing voice.
On January 9, 1951, Jeanie married Waymon Hollis in Salem, Ark. She retired from Guy’s Foods in Liberty, Mo., and spent the rest of her years as a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother.
Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Effie Blackburn; her husband, Waymon Hollis; daughter, Lisa Gay Hollis-McKee; granddaughter Amber Dawn McKee; and sister, Naomi Hollis.
She is survived by her sons, Mark and Matthew Hollis; her four sisters, Roberta, Mary Ann, Charlene, and Sue; one brother, Luther; five grandchildren, Bradley, Aaron, Joey, Eaen, and Misty; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the West Tracy Church of Christ, 27404 NE 144th St, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at New Hope Cemetery.
