Dr. William R. Reed Jr.

Dr William Reed JrDr.  William R. Reed Jr., age 86, of Kearney, MO., passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2019.  He was raised in Cameron, MO, and graduated from Cameron High School in 1950.  He was a 1964 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Dentistry.  He practiced for fifty years in Kearney, MO, and the last 20 years with his step son.

Dr. Reed is survived by his wife of 33 years, Celia Allman Reed of the home; two daughters, Paula Gaugh of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Deborah Reed of Gladstone, MO; two sons, Dr. William R. Reed III of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Roy Kevin Reed of North Kansas City, MO; two step children, Dr. Kevin C. Allman of Kearney, MO, and Elizabeth Al. Allman of Kansas City, MO; and sister, Marilyn Davis of Shawnee, KS.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David J. Reed of Cameron, MO.

He was a retired Colonel in the United States Army Reserves.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Kearney, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.  Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kearney, MO.

Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.

Our Sincere Condolences

So very sorry to hear of Dr. Reeds passing. He was probably one of the best dentists around he truly cared about his patients and gave them the best dental care he could. I worked in the office for thirty years and have so many memories and story’s. His patients were his friends. In ending “Rest in peace Dr. Reed”.

So sorry to hear of Doc’s passing he was always so good to me. I was blessed to not only call him my Doctor but also a friend, he was always ready to take time from his schedule to visit. I will truly miss his wit and humor. He will be missed but not forgotten. I miss will  his service my wife has test but I know that he would of understood. My thoughts and prayers are for his loved one.
