Joseph Desmond “Joe” Templeton III, 91, of Polo, Mo., passed away July 25, 2020 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Joe was born March 11, 1929 to Joseph and Gertrude Templeton of Hodge, Mo. He graduated from Corder High School. Joe was known locally as a nurseryman, seed collector, propagator and owner of Valley View Nursery for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Melba Elaine (Hall) Templeton; and two sons, Kenneth Earl “Kenny” Templeton and David Eugene Templeton.
Joe is survived by four sons, Roger Dale Templeton and wife Shawn of Boone, Colo., Edward Desmond Templeton and wife Cathy of Lawson, Mo., Charles Ellis Templeton of Benson, Ariz., and Keith Douglas “Doug” Templeton and wife Janene of Polo, Mo.; 22 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
