Robert Sanderson III

Robert Sanderson IIIRobert Sanderson III, born on October 20, 1939 in Chicago, Ill., to Till and Robert Sanderson, passed away on September 14, 2020.

Robert was the oldest of five children. He was married to Vicki Sanderson for almost 50 years, loosing Vicki to emphysema just short of their 50th anniversary. Bob served in the Army during the Vietnam war from 1963-1965.

Bob is survived by two sons, Robert Sanderson IV (wife Stephanie) and William Sanderson (fiancee Debi); he was the adored Pawpaw to two grandchildren, Ashley Sanderson and Robert Sanderson; his three brothers and one sister, Dale (wife Roberta), Nancy (husband Dennis), Don (wife Marie), and Barry (wife Susan).

Bob’s love of the outdoors kept him fishing and riding his trails bike every chance he could. He enjoyed going to Florida to spend time with his mom, brother and sister-in-law, fishing, kayaking, metal detecting, and making friends. Bob was a long time member of the local trails clubs both in Illinois (NITRO) and Missouri (MATT) … where he competed and rode with his boys since they were quite young. Bob enjoyed teaching his grandkids how to fish crappie from the lake. And we all enjoyed eating the fish Bob caught. Bob was greatly loved by every person he would meet … he never met a stranger that he didn’t turn into a friend … a true gift. Bob loved his family deeply, always ready to brag about their accomplishments. Whether it be a son, a grandchild, a niece, a nephew, a brother, or a sister …

May God bless Bob’s journey on. Bob has already earned his wings.
