Pat French, age 77, passed away April 22, 2021 in her home after a brief ailment of stomach cancer.
Pat Carter French was born March 10, 1944 in Dearborn, Mo., to Roy Carter and Nellie (Stubbs) Carter.
She is survived by her husband, James (Earl) French of the home; son, Craig Cheek and daughter-in-law, Susan of Neosho, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Brian L. Cheek; parents, Roy and Nellie Carter; and sister, Barbara Hawn.
She was an avid gardener, a talented artist, and great bargain hunter. She was very much a homebody that enjoyed decorating which was done with her great finds. High paid decorators could have not have done any better.
She had a very green thumb and you can see touches of it in and outside of her home. Her yard was beautifully landscaped by her. She had the ability to find just the right flower/greenery and plunk it down in just the right spot. She enjoyed passing her knowledge on to family and friends, some of whom may have plants/flowers blooming in their yards that she may have passed onto them.
Inside her home you will find one of a kind pieces of art that she has painted over the years. There were times when people would comment that they loved a particular painting and she would either sell it to them on the spot or paint one just for them and sell it. Her household and those of family and friends are fortunate to have at least one of her pieces hanging in their home.
She will be missed by her family and her friends.
Due to her wishes no services will be held.
Arrangements in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
