Jerry Eugene Listak Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021 with his family at his side. He entered this life on March 16, 1934, in Damen, Texas to Mary Kocurek and Peter Listak as one of six children. As a youngster, Jerry spent time with his father working the farm picking cotton.
Jerry joined the United States Air Force in June 1954, completing his training as a jet engine mechanic. He married Anna Waynette (Lindsey) Listak on April 15, 1960. They have celebrated 61 years together, as well as eight children.
Jerry worked in the oil field throughout his life. He and Waynette settled in Lahoma, Oklahoma, raising their family.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, being at home, and the grandchildren.
Jerry moved in with his daughter, Terrie, in Independence, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary; brothers, Vladamir and Patrick; sister, Bessie; daughter, Ginger Willson and Waynell Goodnight; and son, Jerry Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Waynette; sister, Vlasta Ludwig; brother, Sidney; daughters, Terrie, Waynette, Christal, ReneƩ, and Jodell; as well as many daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma, Oklahoma with a burial to follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
