Freddie Junior Vanderpool

Freddie Junior Vanderpool passed away July 13, 2021, at his home.

Freddie was born December 17,1942, in Liberty, MO, to Fred and Marie (Woods) Vanderpool.  Freddie was raised in Excelsior Springs, graduating from Excelsior Springs High School in 1960.  He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964 – 1973 as a dog handler at NIKE bases in Lawson, MO, and Franklin Lakes, NJ.

From a young age Freddie had a passion for agriculture and animals that carried on throughout his life.  He owned and operated Vanderpool Feed and Supply serving the area with fuel and water deliveries as well as most farm needs.  After its closure he worked as a paper carrier for the Kansas City Star. During his life he was known for his admiration and love of faithful dogs, cattle and good farm equipment.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Trish; sister, Beverly Schwarzel of Richmond, MO; son, Fred L “Butch” and wife, Rebecca of Oak Grove,MO; and son, Kenman and girlfriend, Kelly of Las Vegas, NV.  Along with his immediate family he is also survived by his large extended family and friends.

Services will be held at St Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs on Monday, July 19 2021 with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m..
