Geri Lee Clevenger, 88, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Geri Lee was born May 30, 1933 to Raymond and Gladys Fisher in Kansas City, KS. On September 30, 1950 she married C.W. Clevenger in Excelsior Springs, where they would reside.
Geri held a Bachelor of Arts degree after graduating from Southwest Baptist University. For nearly 30 years she taught school in both Missouri and Iowa. Following her retirement from teaching she served as President of the Excelsior Springs Business and Professional Women and was elected Woman of the Year.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. C.W. Clevenger, Excelsior Springs; sisters, Donna Swartz, Edmon, OK, and Dianna Hayles, Montgomery, AL; her children, Jerry (Vickie) Clevenger, Ft. Myers, FL, Cathy Clevenger, Chris (Tisha) Clevenger and Stephanie Clevenger, all of Excelsior Springs; her son-in-law, Rob Easter, Lee’s Summit; and her grandchildren, Larry and William Acree, Ellaina Davis, Joy and Jacob Easter, Brian and Kathryn Clevenger, Ashley Clevenger, Brittani Dumas, Nicolas Grass, Austin Clevenger, Rose Clevenger, Aidan and Mavrick Hamilton, and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Chambers; daughter, Glenda Easter; and two great grandchildren, Lincoln Odell Westmorland and Emma Kathryn Marks.
A visitation will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, MO, on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following. The graveside service and burial will be held at Excelsior Springs Masonic Cemetery.
