Leith Taylor, 40, of Liberty, MO, passed away on September 25, 2021 at North Kansas City Hospital holding his wife’s hand.
Leith was born on June 12, 1981 in Dodge City, KS, to William “Bill” Taylor and Janine (Davis) Taylor. Leith graduated from Liberty High School and the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center for Automotive Technology in 1999.
In 1999, Leith enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He attended boot camp at San Diego, CA. He completed training at Camp Lejeune for Diesel Mechanics. Leith served four years stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. He was a part of First Motor Transport, where he completed one tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Leith received the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and a Certificate of Appreciation. After his time in the Marine Corp, Leith moved back home to Liberty, MO. He fulfilled his childhood dream of opening an Automotive Repair Shop with his father, Bill.
Leith met the love of his life, Jessica, and the two were married August 9, 2008. Their union blended two families into one. Together Leith and Jessica had seven children in total. Leith enjoyed spending time with his family and never missed the chance to have a barbeque. He enjoyed going to museums and learning about history with his children. Leith loved to go fishing on the weekend. He enjoyed gardening and trips to the farmer’s market with his wife. Leith also enjoyed building furniture and doing home renovations.
Leith was a devoted, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who touched so many lives. He never turned down the opportunity to help someone or teach them something. He is loved by so many. He will be greatly missed and remembered always.
Leith leaves behind his wife, Jessica; his children, Brieanna, Brianna, Keaton, Tristen, Isabella, Liam and EmilyMae; his father, Bill Taylor and partner, Kay of Kansas City, MO; his mother, Janine O’Brien and husband, Chris of Laurie, MO; brother, Adam Taylor and wife, Bethanie of Mt. Vernon, MO; and sister, Sarrah Renno and husband, Curtis (Jeff) of Liberty, MO.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Pauline Taylor, Silas Davis, and Floella Miller.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 with service immediately following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. A private burial will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
