Gary “Butch” Carlson of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 65.
Butch proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Chaparral Crewmember.
He was a master carpenter by trade and he took great pride in his framing expertise.
Butch was an avid sports fan, he especially loved football. Even his love for football never interfered with his love for the Lord, and the television Christian sermons from Daystar Ministries that he enjoyed watching.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Carlson.
Survivors include his loving mother, Lois Holman; his three sons, Christopher R. Carlson (Mindy), K. Ryan Carlson (Stacey), and Jonathan R. Carlson; his siblings, Dennis Carlson, Linda Anderson, and Jeff Carlson; his seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his beloved new companion and friend, Lady (his dog); and numerous loving friends.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 4, 2021 at Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri 64037. A celebration of life gathering will follow services at the VFW 1000, 1002 US-24 Hwy., Independence, Missouri 64050.

I am deeply saddened that Butch has passed. I really enjoyed the times we have spent together. He will always be on my mind. I am not going to be able to attend his services. Please know that I care for you all. May God bless you all.
