Stephen L. Gentry, age 65, of Ozark, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Stephen L. Gentry was born January 10, 1956 in Kansas City, Kans., to Ray and Naomi June Gentry. He is survived by two daughters, Johanna Gentry and Heidi Rydell (and husband, Jason); and three grandchildren, Graci, Audrey, and Jason, Jr. He also leaves behind his sister, Susan Hutcheson; nephew, Scott Cullens; and two nieces, Michele Wimmer (and husband, Eric) and Christy Cullens; and great-nephews, Zane and Lincoln Wimmer.
Stephen was a happy and friendly man. He worked for several years at Sunshine Biscuit Co. and Coca-Cola in Kansas City and spent many years working in the security and protection industry.
The greatest passion of his life was serving the Lord. He loved to wear t-shirts that proclaimed his faith. Prior to his death, Stephen resided in an assisted-living community where he enjoyed the people and the social activities. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at the Fry-Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo., at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery.
