Janel Rae (Campbell) Dunn, 58, Kearney, Mo., passed away peacefully November 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Janel was born in Burlington, Iowa, October 18, 1963 to Elwood Campbell and Janet Alexander. She married her high school sweetheart, Cliff, in 1984. They both graduated from Western Illinois University in 1986. Janel worked her way up the corporate ladder in consumer product sales with The Gillette Company, P&G and, most recently, Unilever.
Janel had a love for making good food for her family, crappie fishing, spending time at Lake Viking in the summer and spending time with (spoiling) her grand babies. Most of all she loved her family.
Janel is survived by her husband, Cliff; two daughters, Megan (Andrew) Lorenson of Kearney, and Ariel Dunn, temporarily stationed at Ft. Riley, Kans.; three grandchildren, Bayli of Salina, Kans., Ella and Mia, both of Kearney; two sisters, Judy Paulet of Smithville and Janese Brown of Kearney; brother, Jeff of Bella Vista, AR; and her mother, Janet Alexander of Gladstone.
She is preceded in death by her father, Elwood.
Her beautiful smile, selflessness, and can-do attitude will be missed by many, but forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Creek Farm located at 11602 NW US Hwy. 169, Kansas City, MO 64165. The family will begin greeting visitors at 3 p.m. with the service starting at 3:30 p.m. There will be no graveside internment.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Duke Cancer Center at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
