Jack HoltzclawJack Holtzclaw, 93, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away December 23, 2021 at home.

Jack was born September 4, 1928 in Sedelia, Mo. Jack was a man who deeply loved his family, so enjoyed feeding his birds, a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, World War ll veteran, loved as many Perry Mason reruns one could ever want to watch, best peanut brittle maker on the planet earth, best potato peeler on both sides of the Mississippi and absolutely the most honorable man you could ever hope to meet.

Jack worked most of his career as a construction superintendent and laborer, building many of the roads and bridges we travel on. After retirement he and wife of 70 years, Arlene, enjoyed traveling many places and visiting family.

Jack was preceeded in death by love of his life, Arlene Holtzclaw (King); father and mother, Henry and Edna Holtzclaw; brother/sister-in-law, Harlen and Betty Jane Holtzclaw; sister, Betty Whitman; son and daughter-in-law, Henry M. and Susan Holtzclaw; daughter, Jacqualine Huddlemeyer (Holtzclaw); and grandson, Matthew Holtzclaw.

Survivors include his sister, Joyce Saylor; brother-in-law, George “Buddy” Whitman; children, Patrica K. Long (Dennis), Jerry Holtzclaw (Virgina), and Ben Holtzclaw (Amanda); grandchildren, Jason Long (Stacy), Kristina Busby (Roger), Samantha Holtzclaw, Brandon Hudlemeyer (Rhonda); and Kyle Hudlemeyer (Brooke); great-grandchildren, Tyler Long (Destiny), Sean Long, Bryson Busby, Christopher Hudlemeyer, and Benjamin Hudlemeyer.

Memorial services to be determined for a later date.
