Carl Carrel was born in Ft. Lewis, Washington, in an Army family that was stationed all over the United States and Europe. Third grade was in Excelsior Springs while his father was in Vietnam and again after his dad retired to finish his school years here.
Work started at Worlds of Fun and the Pepsi plant in town. From there living on a houseboat in Florida while doing underwater welding. Next was Chicago working on skyscrapers and driving a truck for Consolidated Freight as well as rehabbing numerous houses to sell. His vacations were long and spanned continents for several years at a time in Central America, Europe and the Middle East. This past decade he would usually spend a couple of months at his house in Germany every few years followed by sailing the islands of Greece.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Elsa Carrel.
His father, Harry Carrel Jr., and brother, Harry Carrel III, still live in Excelsior Springs.
Cremation. A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, MO.
