Jack Crowley, 78, of Lawson, peacefully passed away October 4, 2022. Jack was born July 10, 1944 in Polo, Missouri, to Lillian (Holman) and Floyd Crowley. He attended school in Polo, Excelsior Springs and graduated from Lawson High School in 1964.
Jack was united in marriage to Teresa Zeikle on April 17, 1965. To this union two daughters, Shawna and Angie, were born. The family lived in and around the Lawson area for 40 years. During this time Jack coached youth girls softball and the Millers Men’s softball team. Jack also enjoyed his time serving on the Lawson Park Board and on the City Council.
After 36 years he retired from Allis-Chalmers, Ag Co Corporation in 2000 and they moved to Lake Viking. While living there he worked part-time for the Cameron Hospital as a courier. In 2014, he and Teresa moved to Lathrop, Mo., and this past year back home to Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Wayne and Keith; and five brother-in-laws.
Jack is survived by his wife, Teresa; their two daughters, Shawna Wiegand and Angie (Jimmy) Kinard; four grandchildren, Jerry (Jayme) Taylor, Jeanna Taylor, Wyatt (London) Bowers and Ethan (Brooke) Bowers; four great-grandchildren, Bentlee, Ryker, Harper and Ivan; as well as his two sisters, Bonnie Stoddard and Charlotte Stone; two sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a big Chiefs fan but his greatest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2022 with service following at the Lawson United Christian and Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lawson Youth Wrestling Association. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Bross & Spidle Funeral Home (217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024). Please make checks payable to “Lawson Youth Wrestling Association” and indicate on an envelope or memo line, In Memory of Jack Crowley.
