Gladys “Louise” Duncan

Gladys DuncanGladys “Louise” Duncan, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 6, 1930, to James Thomas Jackson and Gladys (Zinn) Jackson. She was married to Ronald Duncan June 20, 1947, and they were married for over 60 years. Louise was a mother, grandma, great-grandma, and a great-great-grandma. She had six children, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to Louise.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Carolyn Bethards and Mary Lancaster; and a great-great-granddaughter, Nakiya Harker; four brothers, Arnold Jackson, Paul Jackson, Bill Jackson, and Bud Jackson; and three sisters, Stella Thompson, Lil Elliott and Jean Barnes.

Louise is survived by four children, Donnie Duncan and wife, Kathie Duncan, Betty Williams and husband, Billy Williams, Barry Duncan, and Richie Duncan; sons-in-law, Dennis Bethards and Wayne Lancaster; one brother, Delbert Jackson; and one sister, Ann Conley.

Services will be held at the Old New Garden Church, 12764 Hwy. O, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. Visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Old New Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Old New Garden Church Cemetery Fund (in care of Steve Rogers, 505 Ottman St., Richmond, MO 64085) in honor of Louise and Ronald Duncan.

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
