Billy Gene Culpepper of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away peacefully November 18, 2022 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He lost his battle to stomach cancer.
Billy was born July 5, 1935, in Scottsboro, Alabama. He graduated from Section High School in 1956. He served in the Army and was discharged in June of 1964. He worked 29 labor intensive years at Industrial Lumber Company in Kansas City, KS. He retired in 1998. He attended United Pentecostal Church in Kansas City, Gospel Lighthouse in Excelsior Springs, and Church of God in Excelsior Springs. Billy had a lot of loves in life: Brooke and Darcie, fishing, and talking about politics and God.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Culpepper (Michelle) of Liberty, MO; granddaughter, Brooke Culpepper of Gladstone, MO; Darcie Smith of the home; and sister, Betty Treece from Alabama.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Graveside services will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Richmond, MO, at 11:30 a.m.
The family would like to thank his hospice nurse, Michele, for her dedication to making Billy feel comfortable in his final days.
