Frances Nadine Williams

Frances Nadine WilliamsFrances Nadine Williams, age 101, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away December 29, 2022 at her home and attended by her loving daughters.

Nadine was born January 23, 1921 to Fred and Oakley (James) Ayers in Oklahoma City, Okla. Nadine graduated from Choctaw High School in Choctaw, Oklahoma, and attended junior college in Oklahoma City. She later moved to Pattonsburg, Mo., where her grandparents lived. There she met Harold Lloyd Williams. They married on April 29, 1942 in Bethany, Mo.

Nadine is survived by her four daughters, Kathy (Hop) Vinton of Mullen, Neb., Bonnie (Gene) Clary of Gatesville, Texas, Mary (Kenny) Bingham of Kansas City, Mo., and Shelly (Dennis) Harper of Richmond, Mo. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie) Vinton, Mark (Elisa) Vinton, Lauren (Justin) Wise, Trevor (Natalia) Holden, Jenny Potmesil, Aaron (Liz) Potmesil, Amanda Madden and Zoe Harper as well as 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Oakley; her husband, Harold; and her sisters, Maxine (Joe) Applegarth and Norma (Bill) Deputy.

How can one summarize an extraordinary woman’s ordinary life?  And Nadine was extraordinary! She was very giving of her time and love to her family, friends, and church family.  She was always there for her four daughters … no matter what the need. She never judged. She faced life head-on with courage and dignity (and sometimes more than just a little sass). Nadine was a Christian since the age of 12 and a faithful member of the Nashua Baptist Church. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Nashua Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri. Private family burial will take place at Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, Pattonsburg, Missouri.

Arrangements in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
