Kenneth C. George

Kenneth GeorgeKenneth C. George, 86, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away January 21, 2023. Kenneth was born on October 19, 1936, in Independence, Missouri, to Lewis George and Holiece Noland.

He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School with the class of 1954. He was selected to attend Boys State
by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Excelsior Springs. Following high school, he attended William Jewell on a football scholarship. He also served in the Missouri National Guard.

Following the untimely death of his brother, he returned to the family farm and continued farming with his father. Kenneth was well-respected in the farming community for his affinity to work and handle cattle. He was always proud of his Clay County roots where he always lived, and his ancestors settled in the early 1800s.

Kenneth was a member of Excelsior Springs First United Methodist Church for over 48 years. He was also a member of Angerona No. 193 AF and AM Masonic Lodge chapter in Missouri City.

Kenneth was preceded in death by parents, Lewis Curtis George and Holiece Noland George; sister, Lorene George Clatworthy; brothers, Henry Arthur George, L.C. George Jr., and Richard Lee George; and brother-in-law, David Cramer Martin.

Kenneth is survived by wife of 67 years, Judy Martin George; son, Kenneth Stephen George and wife, Peggy George; grandchildren, Amber Lee George, Tyler Clay George and wife, Catlin Wisdom George, Tracy George Braddy and husband, Justin Braddy; great grandchildren, Asher Brett Braddy, Alice Ann Braddy, and Athel Lewis Braddy; and sisters-in-law, Marylist Dillen George, Susan Martin, and Barbara Martin Miller and husband, John Hart Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on January 26, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri from 1 to 2 p.m., with a service and private family graveside service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church, the Excelsior Springs Museum, or a charity of your choice.
