Skylar Drake Wood was born in Kansas City to Tricia Rowland and Ryan Wood.
Growing up, Skylar had an early love and talent for wrestling and made many lifelong friendships in the wrestling community. After many youth and high school state wrestling championships, he earned a wrestling scholarship to the University of Nebraska where he made the lineup his freshman year. After his time there, he attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. While there, he gained several more lifelong friends as well as an associates degree. Since then, Skylar has had various roles In the construction industry. He enjoyed cheering on his siblings in their various activities, spending time outdoors, anything sports related, and was always up for an adventure.
He was preceded In death by maternal grandfather, Eddie Rowland, and paternal uncle, Darrick Wood.
Skylar is survived by his parents, Tricia Rowland-Anderson, and Ryan and Amber Wood; siblings, Reese Wood, Reagan Wood, and River Wood; maternal grandmother, Linda Rowland; paternal grandparents, Bill and Ruth Ann Wood; along with many more extended family members and friends.
Everyone that had the honor of knowing Skylar knew how the room would light up when he entered. Skylar never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone he could. His kind heart and gentle spirit will be forever missed by his friends and family.

Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fry-Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in honor of Skylar.
