With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tammy Hudson, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who left us in the early morning hours of September 23, 2023, while she slept peacefully. She was 60 years old, having recently celebrated her birthday surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Tammy possessed great warmth, love, and compassion. Her creative spirit shone through her artful handmade gifts and the cherished memories we shared during brighter days. We fondly recall waking up to mugs of hot chocolate on cold mornings while she serenaded the house with her opera version of “Beauty and the Beast”. Her habit of reading our horoscopes at the local diner before school added a touch of magic to our days. She had a unique ability to find beauty in the world.
While Tammy had a remarkable capacity for finding light and joy in the world, she also carried deep wells of sadness that sometimes strained her connections with those who loved and cared for her. She fought a lifelong battle with inner demons that she was never quite able to conquer. However, we take solace in the belief that she has now been reunited with her beloved husband Mike Hudson, as well as her mom and dad, Lorretta and Karl Allenbrand. They have welcomed her home, free from the ailments that plagued her mind and body in this life.
In the end, we choose to remember Tammy for the love she gave and the moments of laughter we shared. Her life journey was a testament to the complexities of the human experience, and she imparted to us just how important it is to find the small things in this world that make life magical.
Tammy is survived by her brothers, Tim Hendrix and Curtis Hendrix, along with his wife Sharon Trapp Hendrix. She is also survived by her two children, Cecily Johnson and her partner Philip Tiblow, with whom she lived and received loving care, and Jocelyn (Johnson) Knight, along with her three grandsons Liam, Leonidas, and Lochlan Knight.
Services to honor Tammy Hudson’s memory will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Exact time and location to be announced soon.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts.
