James “JW” William Stewart, 80, of Kansas City, MO, passed away October 19, 2023 at NKC Hospice House.
JW was born December 24, 1942 in Clinton MO. He married his wife Maxine on August 18th of 1962. They had four children. He lived most of his life in Kansas City area where he worked as foreman for the Burlington Northern railroad for over 25 years. He was an avid bowler with several years’ membership in USBC. He loved all his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. His main hobby was watching tractor YouTube videos (self-taught) with his cat, Pumpkin. He enjoyed watching Chiefs and even Royals games, as well as spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oliver and Ida Mae (Moon) Stewart; wife, Laura Maxine (Hyatt) Stewart; daughter, Sharon Kay (Stewart) Mansker; and sons, James Ray Stewart and John Lee Stewart.
His survivors include daughter, Karen (Stewart) McCrackin; six grandchildren, Cassie McCrackin, Cody McCrackin, Calvin Stewart, Dylyn Deavers, Daryanna Huffman, and Cayden Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Maddie, Summer, Wrenley, and James; plus his spoiled cat, Pumpkin.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. October 26, 2023 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, MO. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. October 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be given to the family to assist in paying for funeral expenses.
