Brianna Rene Raffel, 23, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on November 4, 2023. Brianna was born January 23, 2000, in Porterville, California, to Brian and Melissa (Guinn) Raffel.
Brianna was a brave and dedicated Logistic Specialist in the United States Navy, who served on the USS New Orleans. She received a Navy Achievement Medal for her outstanding performance and service during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her commitment to her country was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends.
In her personal life, Brianna had a deep love for animals and the natural world. Her frequent visits to the zoo were a testament to this passion. She also had an adventurous spirit, traveling to unfamiliar places and immersing herself in diverse cultures.
In her quiet moments, Brianna found joy in painting and crafting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant spirit and life. These hobbies not only brought her personal fulfillment but also brought joy to those around her, as she often shared her creations with family and friends.
Brianna became an advocate for breast cancer awareness, using her own journey to raise awareness and support others facing similar battles. She found a community that rallied around her. Their unwavering support and love sustained her during the toughest moments. She fought bravely, never losing sight of the beauty that life offered, even amidst pain and uncertainty.
Brianna is survived by her mother, Melissa McDonald (Shaun); father, Brian Raffel; brother, Jared Raffel (Abigail); sisters, Destiny Ellison and Ryley McDonald (Ryan Gluhm); nephew, Theodore Raffel; and other relatives and friends. Each of them will remember her resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit.
As we mourn the loss of Brianna, we also celebrate her life and the lasting impact she had on us all. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
