June Spidle, 93, of Cameron, MO, passed away December 3, 2023 at Cameron Nursing Center. She was born Rosita June Bisbee in Kansas City, MO, on March 30, 1930 to the late George Wayne Bisbee and Juanita (Tuck) Bisbee. The first of eight children, June was often a second mom and mentor to her siblings, Ronald, Bobby, Larry, Delma, Gary, George, and Jeff.
June married Floyd Samuel Spidle on July 4, 1948 in Excelsior Springs, MO. They lived most of their 71 years together on their family farm near Cameron where they raised four children plus many foster kids and foreign exchange students, while managing a grade A dairy operation. June was a homemaker, 4-H leader, PTA officer, Sunday school/Bible school/Youth leader during and beyond the years her children were growing up. After farming she received an associate degree and certification as a Diet Tech at age 54. She worked many years into retirement as a Diet Tech for Arlington Memorial Hospital, where she was honored by the state of Texas as Diet Tech of the year 1994.
June was known for caring for others through life and even death. Her baking skills were legendary. She made EVERYTHING from scratch: noodles, loaves of bread, butter, ice cream, cream puffs, pies with lard crusts, oowey gooey cinnamon rolls, donuts – you name it; she made it. Same story for afghans, quilts, clothing … you could show her a prom dress and she could make it – better. Through 4-H she must have taught half the county to cook, sew, garden, show livestock and plant trees. See a wedding cake you could only dream of having? She’d make it and say “It’s my wedding gift for you”.
Following retirement, she and Floyd traveled the country in their Montana fifth wheel and pickup, visiting family, friends and sites in nearly every state.
June is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, who passed in 2019.
Those left to cherish her memory include Stephenie Harper (Larry Harper), of Cameron, Floyd Michael Spidle (Pamela Sumpter Spidle), of Columbia, MO, Brenda Spidle Yingling (Dr. V. Steven Yingling), of Liberty, MO, Rhonda Spidle Bolick (Jonathan Bolick), of Austin, Texas, eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with service to
follow at First Baptist Church in Cameron, Missouri. June will be buried at Graceland Memorial
Gardens in Cameron, Missouri, following the service.
Memorial donations are requested to benefit the First Baptist Church Youth Fund.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
Our Sincere Condolences

Wow, what a special lady! I did not know Mrs. Spidle, but enjoyed reading about her. What a gift to be able to teach people how to do such practical things. I wish I had known her. She sounds like a wonderful person to honor by emulating her life.
