Anna Belle (Gilby) Hanks, 96, born September 24, 1927, the only child of Joseph William Gilby and Erma Amanda Stout Gilby, passed away December 12, 2023, at Norterre in Liberty, Missouri. She had been a resident there since July 12, 2023.
On June 5, 1954, she married Keith Carroll Hanks, who preceded her in death on February 6, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Anna Belle was a graduate of Lawson High School. Her later employment was with Mobil Oil Company in Kansas City. She liked to crochet, quilt, embroider, and do counted cross stitch, as well as work cross word puzzles and read. She also liked to travel and had made many bus trips and cruises.
A celebration of life will be held February 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
