Our beloved Elpha May Gillispie, 97, of Excelsior Springs, passed away very peacefully on October 28, 2024 with family by her side.

Elpha was born on July 27, 1927 and lived a long and fulfilled life. Elpha was a selfless, generous soul who always put the needs of others before her own with her generous giving throughout the years.

Elpha was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Sidebottom, and her father, Burt Sidebottom; her brothers, LeRoy, Carl and Jim Sidebottom; and her sisters, Annie Cicala, Mary Ellen James, and Opal Meeks; and her great-great granddaughter, McKenna Gillispie; and many dear friends.

Elpha will always be remembered by her daughter, Diane Gillispie, and her sons, Roy Gillispie and his wife, Janice Gillispie, Wayne Gillispie and Steve Gillispie; grandchildren, Jennifer Tanner and husband, Larry Tanner, Amanda Robinson and husband, Demond Robinson, Kylie Springfield and husband, Bernard Springfield, Steve Gillispie II, Rachael Stephenson and husband, Aaron Stephenson, Ryan Gillispie, Gary Wayne Gillispie II, and Darren Keith; great grandchildren, Blake Gillispie and his wife, Cher Gillispie, Nicholas Tanner and his wife, Ashlyn Tanner, Christian Tanner, Dorian and Aliyah Robinson, Jayde and Jerzie Springfield, Nathan, Bradley and Hailey Stephenson, Gracie Morgan, Penelope, Roy and Judah Gillispie, Adriona, Skylar, and Gary Gillispie III, and Jayden O’Reilly; great-great grandchildren, Ember Tanner and Scarlett Morgan.

We will miss you, until we meet again!
