In Loving Memory of Debbie West
Debbie West, a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by family and loved ones. Debbie’s life radiated kindness and joy, marked by her unwavering smile and deep devotion to her family.
A graduate of ESHS (1968), Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Robert West in 1969. Together, they built a life centered on love and family, recently celebrating their 55th Wedding Anniversary. She was a devoted mother to Amy (Ryan) Longenecker of Columbia and Jenny West of Excelsior Springs, and a proud “Grammy” to Carter, Isabelle, and Gabby. Her family was the light of her life and she embraced every moment – whether traveling to car shows together, sitting in the stands cheering on her kids/grandkids, or welcoming a house full of friends with her famous homemade cookies, her heart was happiest when surrounded by laughter and loved ones.
For decades, Debbie served as Excelsior Spring’s Tupperware Manager, building many sweet friendships. She thrived on connection and could be found chatting and sharing a kind word, always spreading joy to others.
She is survived by her brother, Rick (Cathie) Holman of Excelsior Springs; sisters, Linda (Jerry) Markley of Lexington, MO, and Tammy (Mark) Reeves of Joplin, MO; as well as Chrissy, BJ, Destany, and Zoey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Jim Holman; sister, Paula Creason; biological father, Kenneth Creason; and mother-/father-in-law Virginia and Buford West.
Debbie embodied 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Her light will continue to shine on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wood Heights City Hall, 2098 E. Ridge Dr., Excelsior Springs. The family invites you to join them in honoring her memory and sharing stories of a life well lived.
Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
Our Sincere Condolences
Debbie was such a nice person. I hadn’t talked to her in years but she was my Tupperware representative when I bought anything. I will have her family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
