Janelle Elaine (Deal) Wynn, 43, of Wood Heights, MO, went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 9, 1981, in North Kansas City, MO, to Jim and Marcia Deal.
Janelle attended Missouri City Elementary School and Liberty Senior High School. She joined The Army National Guard, later earning a nursing degree at Penn Valley Community College. She was employed by Liberty Hospital before becoming a stay-at-home Mom.
Janelle reconnected with James Wynn, who she knew from grade school in Missouri City, and they were married September 8, 2013, combining “His” , “Hers”, and later “Ours” to form an active and loving family. They joined First Baptist Church of Kearney in 2014. Janelle’s greatest joy was seeing their children accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and following in obedience in water Baptism. She loved her family and faith most of all, but also enjoyed family vacations at the ocean, Bible Study, reading, journaling … and shoes, sunglasses, and hats!
Janelle was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Albert “Pete” Anderson, Carl Anderson, uncle, and paternal grandparents, Max Deal and Mary Deal, and Patricia (Deal) Penn, paternal aunt.
She leaves behind James Wynn Sr.; her children, Niko Wells, Spence Gibbs, Bijou Wynn, James Wynn Jr.; stepchildren , Zoe Wynn, Raina Wynn, Luke Wynn, and Kayla Wynn; parents; maternal grandmother, Glennidean Anderson; brothers, Ryan Deal and Derek Deal; sister, Brianna Deal; nieces and nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her Church Family who supported her to the end of life here on earth.
Janelle was a strong woman, with a soft spot in her heart. She especially liked to help her siblings whenever help was needed. She will be dearly missed, creating a void in our lives that will be filled with loving memories until we see her again.
Visitation will be held on April 24, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on April 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Both at the First Baptist Church of Kearney. Burial at Old Mount Zion Cemetery, H Highway, Liberty, MO. Dinner will follow at the church.
