Markus A. Lindley, 70, Kansas City, MO, passed away August 6, 2025.

Markus was born December 2, 1954 in Peru, Indiana.

Markus spent 4 years in the United States Marine Corps from May 1973 to May 1977 as a MarkVI coder, leaving the Marines with the rank of E4 after which he joined the Indiana National Guard from 1983 to 1988 as an infinitary squad leader.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in computer science and worked for Lockheed Martin and DST. Markus did two weeks missionary work in Guiana. The work consisted of building a church for the local congregation and checking his work to be sure he preached our message. Markus also went to Haiti for 1 week teaching the gospel to the local preachers about the Holy Spirit. Markus also served the Lord in many ways such as attending Theology School and becoming a Pastor, teaching Sunday school and going on many mission trips building churches around the world.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne C. Lindley; mother, Myra Lindley; siblings, Fred Lindley, Melodie Nutt, Jon Lindley; children, David and Latasha Lindley, Steve, Anna Lima-Lindley; grandchildren, Joshua, Izabella, Lucas, Alexander, Sebastian, Titiana, Sklyer, June, Kayla, Hunter and Rachael; and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by son, Craig A. Shi and a brother, Greg Lindley.

Markus will be remembered for his kind and giving heart and love for his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.

Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
