Kenneth Horinek

Kenneth Horinek, 68, passed away November 2, 2025 at home from chronic heart disease.

Ken was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 27, 1957. He graduated high school in 1975, Bettendorf, Iowa. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served 1975-1980. After leaving the Marine corps he worked on International Multifoods traveling construction crew.

Ken and Julie were married on May 22, 1982 and settled in Blackwell, Okla., in 1986 before moving to Kearney, Mo., in 1993.

Ken was a member of the American Legion, Smithville, Mo. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and fellow veterans. Some of his favorite things to do were grilling, gardening, hunting, going on an annual fishing trip with his dad and the good ole boys, working on projects in his shop as well as helping others with their projects.

He is survived by Julie, his wife of 43 years; two children; four grandchildren; brothers, sister and their families.

Visitation will be held at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo., on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by graveside services with military honors at Fairview Cemetery, Kearney, Mo.

Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
