Michael Davis

Michael Davis, 79, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away November 17, 2025 at his home.  Mr. Davis was born November 18, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, to Bernard and Helen Davis; the oldest of three sons.

During his youth his love of the outdoors and hunting flourished. Michael graduated high school in 1963, from William Christman in Independence, MO. After graduating, Michael enlisted in the U. S. Army for a 3-year term of service from April 1965 – April 1968, being stationed in Okinawa, an Island of Japan at the missile sites as well as Ft. Riley, KS.

Michael was united in marriage to Bernita (Shultz) on November 22, 1965. Michael’s professional career was as a mechanic, a trade he acquired in the service. He retired from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), where he worked from 1984 until retirement in 2008.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed woodworking, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. He was also actively involved with his faith, being a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Michael is survived by his wife, Bernita, just shy of their 60th Anniversary; their children, Jerry Davis of Red Bluff, CA, Treva Shouse (Randy) of Wood Heights, MO, Jason Davis (Amber) of Richmond, MO, and Rachel Brown (Brian) of Warrensburg, MO; his grandchildren, Ryan (Haley) Danner of Excelsior Springs, MO, Lance (RayAnne) Shouse of Excelsior Springs, MO, Kamryn (Spence) of Olathe, KS, Reese Brown of Warrensburg, MO, William Davis and Dakota Davis of Richmond, MO; and great grandchildren, Ryder Danner, Claydon Vetter, Wrenley Vetter, Jayden Irvine, Adam
Casey and Sylas Miller.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025 at The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO.
