Kenneth Brian Gordy left this world peacefully on December 4, 2025, at 1:23 p.m., with his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Gordy, at his side. He was surrounded by his children, his family, and the love he spent his life building.
Born January 4, 1961, in Norwalk, California, Kenneth lived a life defined by devotion, work ethic, and quiet strength. He founded a commercial-kitchen installation company and built it from the ground up, providing steady work for others and took pride in doing things the right way.
He carried that same precision into the sky as a CFI-MEII flight instructor, where he found his joy in flying. On the ground, he loved golf, loved music, loved the ocean, loved a good card game — and most of all, he loved time with his wife.
Industrious, hardworking, and quick with humor, Kenneth was the kind of man whose presence steadied a room. His life was a long testament to sacrifice and loyalty. Everything he did — every job, every late night, every careful choice — was for the sake of his family. His greatest honor, and the role he cherished most, was being a husband and a father.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Rachel and husband, Jake Chaney and their son, Benjamin, Allison and husband, Justin Allsbury and their son, Mason Ray, and Alex “Aspen”; and by extended family who loved him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Floyd Gordy; his younger brother, Kelly Gordy; his grandmother, Madeline Estelle Gordy; and his great-aunt, Joyce.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held to honor his life and lay him to rest at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery followed by a reception at the Gordy home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable contributions in memory of Ken Gordy be made to the Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, California 94026, www.brainsupportnetwork.org.
Kenneth’s absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully reach, but his love lives on in the people he raised, the work of his hands, and the memories that will be carried forward — quiet, steady, and enduring.
Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
