Wanda Ludean (Henson) Stevens

Wanda Ludean (Henson) Stevens, 89, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. She was born on August 14, 1936, in Kearney, Missouri, to Dugan and Elsie E. (Johnson) Henson.
Wanda spent much of her life devoted to her family and the farming life she loved. Wanda had a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She often described herself best with the words, “Sassy, classy, and a little badassy.” She also liked to say, “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, but I sure can cuss,” a reflection of the humor and authenticity that defined her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dugan and Elsie Henson; her husband, James A. Stevens; her son, Jerry Stevens; and her sister, Eleanor “Peaches” Stock.
Wanda is survived by her children, Russell Stevens and Sandy Reichert and her husband, Craig Reichert. She was a proud grandmother to Maggie (Stevens) Kingman, Katie (Stevens) Maidment, Dylan Stevens, Daniel Reichert, and David Reichert. She was also blessed with four great-grandsons who brought her great joy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Muddy Fork Cemetery in Holt, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Muddy Fork Cemetery, specifying “In Memory of Wanda,” by mailing checks to Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson, Kearney, MO 64060, or leaving them at the funeral home. Contributions can also be made to Alzheimer’s Association at alzfdn.org
Wanda will be remembered for her strength, humor, and fierce love for her family. Her legacy of hard work, resilience, and laughter will live on through those who knew and loved her.
